COVID-19 INFO

COVID-19 UPDATE

In my ongoing quest to track the latest COVID-19 data, I have been reading articles, checking updates, talking to event leaders, attending discussion panels - all in an attempt to answer the one burning question:

Can we gather INSIDE, withOUT a mask, and HUG yet?!

Well, here’s some GREAT news!: I recently contacted a local event organizer, who leads events that are INSIDE, withOUT masks, and involve CLOSE contact and TOUCHING, and this is what he reported:

To date, they have hosted 77 events, with a total of 1,892 attendees

ZERO cases of COVID-19 have been reported, post-event!

NONE. Zip. Nada. Nil. Zilch-a-roonio!!

(We will be using the EXACT SAME protocols that they use for OUR event!)

While that is fantastic anecdotal news, it is certainly no guarantee.

Even though the mask mandate has been removed, COVID-19 variants continue to mutate and spread, thus fully vaccinated people can still experience a “breakthrough” COVID-19 infection, albeit with generally milder symptoms.

Hence, everyone will still need to assess their own risk tolerance and comfort level. If you would feel more comfortable wearing a mask, PLEASE DO. If you just aren’t ready to attend an event yet, I certainly understand and honor that choice and look forward to seeing you at a future event.

So, here’s the plan . . .

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

Requirements:

  1. All attendees must be fully vaccinated and email proof of vaccination to cheri@thetouchtonic.com (Boosters aren’t required.)

  2. All attendees must take a COVID-19 rapid test within 24 hours of the Connection 'N Cuddles event and send the negative test results to cheri@thetouchtonic.com. If you are unable to acquire a test, there will be a few tests available at the door for $12 each. Please let me know if you will need a test, so we can make the necessary arrangements.

  3. All attendees will have their temperature taken prior to entry. Anyone with a temperature of 99.5 or higher won’t be able to attend. Event payment will be refunded in full.

  4. All attendees will be responsible for honestly assessing their current health status. If you are experiencing ANY symptoms (headache, sore throat, fatigue, upset stomach, runny nose, etc), please STAY HOME. Even if you are convinced it’s not COVID, we want to keep everyone healthy.

  5. Do NOT come to an event within 5 days of being exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Event Space will contain:

  • Air purifier

  • Fans

  • Open windows (weather/temperature permitting)

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Boxes of tissue

  • Three hand washing stations

While AT the event:

  • Wash hands frequently

  • Avoid touching your face (i.e., eyes, nose, and mouth) and anyone else’s face

  • If possible, cough or sneeze into a tissue or personal hanky. If those aren’t available, use the elbow of your shirt sleeve.

  • Place ALL trash (used tissues, plates, cups) in the garbage at your earliest convenience

  • If you would feel more comfortable wearing a mask, PLEASE DO!
